Tikwenda is a grassroots foundation in Mzimba, Malawi, dedicated to empowering marginalized communities through community-led development. We believe in the power of local resources and collective action to drive lasting change.

Our Impact:

Community-Built Infrastructure: We’ve facilitated the construction of vital community assets like the Agriculture Extension Planning Area Office and girls’ quarters at Ehlekweni primary school, demonstrating the power of local contributions and matching support.
Empowering Communities: We’ve conducted sensitization campaigns across 23 Village Development Committees, promoting community philanthropy and self-reliance.
Combating Gender Based Violence (GBV): With support from Plan International Malawi, we’ve reached over 4,000 people with crucial GBV awareness campaigns.
Sustainable Income: We’re introducing beekeeping to empower individuals and generate funds for student support and community projects.
